The book of questions
Frequently asked questions.

Chapter I The basics
What exactly does Vimarsh measure?
Vimarsh measures how AI answer engines respond when someone asks the kind of question your customers realistically ask. For each answer it works out whether your business is named, where it appears among the names, and whether it is recommended rather than merely mentioned. Where an engine shows its sources, Vimarsh records those too.
Those findings roll up into an AI Visibility score, plus mention, recommendation and citation rates, each shown with the number of AI responses it rests on.
Chapter I The basics
Is Vimarsh an AI model itself?
No. Vimarsh is a layer of measurement above the engines your customers already use. It asks OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity through each provider's own official interface, and it never scrapes their websites.
The scores come from fixed formulas, not from an AI grading itself. So the same responses always produce the same numbers.
Chapter I The basics
How is this different from SEO?
Traditional SEO measures where your page ranks in a list of links. An AI answer is not a list of links: it is a written response that names some businesses and leaves others out. Vimarsh measures whether you are named, recommended or cited inside that answer, which is a different surface with different signals.
It does not replace SEO and it does not measure your Google ranking. Many teams look at both.
Chapter I The basics
Which AI engines do you measure?
The engines depend on your plan. Starter measures OpenAI and Claude. Growth, Agency and Agency Pro measure all four: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.
One thing worth knowing: Perplexity answers from a live web search and shows its sources. OpenAI, Claude and Gemini are asked without web browsing, so their answers show what each model itself says about you. That can differ from what a person sees in an app with browsing switched on.
Chapter I The basics
How are the questions chosen?
Vimarsh builds them from your business profile: your name, website, industry, location, services and the competitors you name. They cover eight kinds of question, such as recommendations, comparisons, alternatives, price and problem questions, plus some about your brand by name.
For businesses in India, Vimarsh also adds city-localized versions and Hinglish versions. You can regenerate the set whenever your business changes.
Chapter I The basics
Do you send the same question to every AI engine?
Yes. The question is sent to every engine on your plan in exactly the same words, so the results can be compared fairly instead of being rephrased for each engine.
Chapter I The basics
How often is it measured?
Every week, on Monday. Vimarsh is a weekly measurement, not a live ticker. AI answers can change from one minute to the next, so a steady weekly rhythm gives you a comparable trend rather than noise.
Chapter II Your evidence and scores
Can I see the actual AI response behind a number?
Yes. Your dashboard lists every AI response by engine and query. Open one to read the raw answer exactly as the engine gave it, along with any sources it cited. Nothing is asserted without the text behind it.
Chapter II Your evidence and scores
How is the AI Visibility score calculated?
It combines five measures with fixed weights: mention rate 30%, recommendation rate 25%, citation rate 20%, sentiment 15% and position 10%. If a measure is missing, for example because the sample is still too small, it is left out and the remaining weights are re-balanced, so you are never marked down for data that has not built up yet.
The weights are our product decision, not a law of nature, and we publish them for that reason.
Chapter II Your evidence and scores
What does "low sample" mean?
Every score states how many AI responses it is based on. When that number is small, Vimarsh marks the score as directional: worth watching, but not yet something to build a decision on. It firms up as more weekly measurements accumulate.
Chapter II Your evidence and scores
Can Vimarsh get my brand mentioned by AI?
No, and be wary of anyone who promises that. Vimarsh measures and explains what the engines say about you, so you can see where you stand and where competitors are named instead. It does not change what an AI engine says.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
Do you use tracking cookies?
No advertising or analytics tracking cookies. Vimarsh uses one functional, secure cookie that keeps you signed in. Signup uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated bots, which is separate from tracking.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
Is my data, or my competitors' data, ever visible to another customer?
No. Every query is scoped to your own organization in application code, and database row-level security adds a second layer on the routes that read or write your business data, so a query that forgets its scope still cannot read another organization's rows there.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
How long do you keep the AI responses?
The raw response from each engine is kept for 90 days and then purged. The results extracted from it stay, so your history and trends are not lost.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes. From Account Settings you confirm with your password. There is then a 14-day cooldown during which you can restore the account. After that, your account and business data are erased. Billing records tied to payments are kept as the law and our payment processor require.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
Is there a free trial?
There is no trial period, but every new business gets one free report. It runs the same measurement on all four engines (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity) and shows the response behind every number. It does not need a card.
The free report is limited to one per business, per email address and per website, and disposable email addresses are not accepted. Paid plans add ongoing weekly measurement on the engines your plan includes.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
How does billing work?
Plans are billed monthly in rupees through Razorpay. There are no usage credits for you to track or ration: each plan simply states what it includes.
Chapter III Privacy, plans and billing
How do I cancel?
Open Account Settings and choose Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full access until then and are not charged again. Only an account owner or admin can cancel. If you would rather have us do it, write to [email protected] and we will sort it with you. Our refund & cancellation policy sets out how refunds work.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
Can I connect Google Search Console?
Yes. Connect it from your dashboard to see which pages and queries earn search clicks, shown alongside your AI visibility. It's included on every paid plan.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
Can I connect Google Ads, Meta Ads and ChatGPT Ads?
Google Ads and ChatGPT Ads connect from your dashboard today and bring real campaign performance (impressions, clicks, spend) into Vimarsh, shown next to your AI results. They're included on every paid plan.
Meta Ads is rolling out: the connection itself works, but it currently only works for Vimarsh's own test account while Meta reviews our request for every customer to connect their own account. We'll turn it on for everyone as soon as that review completes.
We don't connect LinkedIn Ads or the Meta Ad Library -- they're outside Vimarsh's current scope.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
Does Vimarsh track competitors?
Yes, two ways. You can name competitors directly, and Vimarsh's comparison questions include them. For physical businesses, Vimarsh also discovers nearby competitors via Google Places and compares their presence to your AI visibility.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
What is the Local Competitor Map and Maps vs AI Gap?
They compare nearby competitors (found via Google Places) against how often AI mentions and recommends your business, so you can see where a strong local presence isn't matched by AI visibility, or the reverse. Available on the Growth plan and above.
This is built for physical, local businesses. For a non-physical or B2B business, Google Places has no meaningful idea of your "nearby competitors," so this feature is not useful for that kind of business -- we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
What is Local Radar Grid?
A locality-by-locality scan of your AI visibility, for businesses that serve more than one area of a city. Available on the Agency plan and above.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
What does Agency support, and how many businesses can it manage?
Agency supports up to 10 client businesses from one account, with team member invitations and a portfolio view (Agency Intelligence) across all of them: channel coverage, AI visibility and pending insights per client, in one place.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
What is Agency Pro?
The same Agency capabilities at a higher capacity: up to 30 client businesses from one account.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
Does Agency include white-label reporting?
No, not yet. There's no white-label export or report on any plan today.
Chapter IV Search, local, ads and agencies
What is the Action Center?
It turns visibility gaps into specific, prioritized actions instead of just a dashboard of numbers. Included on every paid plan; Starter shows the top 3 items, Growth and above show the full list.
