What it does
Runs a real Google Places search near your business (rate-limited to once a week), showing results in a table and on a map. Each competitor gets a match-confidence band (Strong/Likely/Weak); you choose which ones to 'track' for AI measurement -- tracking a competitor adds it to the next AI measurement cycle, it does not retroactively backfill past data.
A second view, Maps vs AI Gap, compares your business's own AI mention/recommendation rate against each tracked competitor's. Each comparison is classified into a plain-language status (e.g. 'Strong locally, weak in AI -- a real gap'). A rate is only shown as a real percentage once enough AI answers have been recorded to clear a stated minimum sample size -- below that, it's explicitly labeled as not enough measurements rather than a potentially misleading rounded number.
A 'Where the gap is' section lists specific, plain-language gaps, each linking to the actual underlying AI answer(s) as evidence -- never an unsupported claim.
How to use it
- 1Click 'Find nearby competitors' to run the initial scan (available again weekly via 'Scan again').
- 2Review the table/map; expand a row's 'Why listed' for match confidence and source.
- 3Toggle 'Track' on the competitors you want included in AI measurement.
- 4Switch to 'Maps vs AI gap' to see your AI mention/recommendation rate against tracked competitors, with direct links to evidence.
