Waste Finder

Joins your Google Ads spend, organic Search Console rankings, and AI visibility into one view that flags likely wasted spend and under-covered opportunities.

What it does

Requires both Google Ads and Search Console connected and synced first. Once both are ready, a manual analysis classifies each query into one of several categories: Potential waste (paid spend overlapping already-strong organic+AI visibility with no defensive signal), Efficiency opportunity (commercially relevant query, little presence anywhere), AI visibility gap (ranks well organically, AI rarely mentions the business), Organic visibility gap (AI mentions it, organic ranking is weak), Paid defense (the overlap looks intentional -- tracked competitors are also strongly visible there, so the spend plausibly defends position), or Insufficient data.

Each finding shows the real underlying numbers -- ad spend, organic position, AI mention rate with its own sample-size/confidence label, and an explicit confidence score -- plus a plain-language explanation of why it was classified that way. Analysis is timestamped and flagged stale after a set number of days, and re-analysis is rate-limited rather than available on demand every time.

How to use it

  1. 1Connect and sync Google Ads, then connect and sync Search Console.
  2. 2Click 'Run Waste Finder' to generate the first analysis.
  3. 3Review the summary counts by classification, then read individual findings for the real spend/position/AI-mention numbers behind each one.
  4. 4Click 'Re-analyze' once the cooldown clears to refresh.
