Competitor Ad Intelligence

Scans Meta's public Ad Library for ads run by your tracked competitors -- with an honest, structural caveat that this mostly only works for EU/UK-delivered ads.

What it does

Checks whether Meta Ad Library API access is configured at all for this deployment and whether you have any tracked competitors (via the Competitors feature), then a manual scan (24-hour cooldown) checks the public Ad Library for each tracked competitor.

Per competitor, the result is one of: ads available (with active/total ad counts, first/last observed dates, a recurring messaging theme if detected, and CTAs used), no results (genuinely no matching ads, not an error), restricted outside EU/UK, or an API error.

The product is explicit about a real platform limitation: Meta's Ad Library API only returns general commercial ads for ads delivered to the EU/UK -- outside those regions, the API only exposes political/issue ads, so an ordinary competitor's commercial advertising often cannot be checked through this API at all. The product states this plainly rather than silently reporting 'no ads found'.

How to use it

  1. 1Track at least one competitor via the Competitors feature first.
  2. 2Click 'Scan now' to check the public Ad Library for each tracked competitor.
  3. 3Review per-competitor results -- a restricted badge means 'not checkable here', not 'no ads'.
  4. 4Re-scan after the 24-hour cooldown to refresh.

Known limits

  • If Meta Ad Library API access hasn't been configured for this deployment, the feature shows a 'not configured' state regardless of your plan -- this is a real operational dependency, not a plan-tier issue, and worth stating plainly rather than assuming it's always working.
